very nice blog where i can voice my opinion about the middle-east issues.

The Irony of Hierarchy

Dingdong! Dingdong!

What a pleasant sound after the three hours of sitting and listening to all the complexity of language!

Yeah, yeah.. Our classes were done for the week at last.

Since I had to read for my quiz this afternoon, I didn't get a chance to eat. By the time we finished our class, it was already time for dinner. Since we skept our lunch, we decided to treat ourselves. To the Pizzahut! Yeahey~ hahaha.

We ordered a ceasar salad and a supersupreme pan pizza. 'Twas more than enough for just the two of us. After the long hours of empty stomach, it was full now. The meal costed us about 300 which I thought was not much for a satisfactory meal. With all the talkings and good food, my mood was lighter than before.

After the meal, well, of course, we were on our way home. From afar, I saw a rugged boy coming toward us. I evaded the eye contact since it is far more appropriate than looking straight to his eyes, and refuse whatever he is going to ask from me. He came closer and closer until he was standing right in front of me. I saw that the boy was selling saging. I was full already, and didn't feel for it, so I just said no thank you. As we were passing, he added saying,

"Dalawa lang, te. Hungry ako."

Who wouldn't have stopped at this?? He sells the remaining two, and he'd be home having some food hopefully, and the sagings were just 10 each.

We gave the boy 20, and told him that he should have the two sagings since he's hungry.

"Thank you, te," said the boy repeatedly. "Uuwi na ako, te."

Considering the fact that he was hungry, I told him that he should eat the saging.

"No, te. para sa kapatid ko," the boy said to us.. OUCH.....................
then he ran... toward home i presumed. I felt weird... almost like guilt.

20 pesos... was not enough...

how much did i spend having a meal? 300... The boy has to sell 30 sagings to eat pizza...

sigh...

I felt sorry for him, and guilty about my little 20peso bill.

While these things were crossing my mind, the boy was also getting further and further from us.
I kept on thinking about it.

Maybe 100m away from home, I see this guy whom I used to see at an internet cafe near my place. Behind him was a white buck - Toyota Rav4, glimmering like a shining star.

Hello.

We greeted him, and went on.
...

Phew! What a day! I thought.

Was I supposed to feel sorry for myself this time? LOL.. hahaha..

So, today, I learned the irony of hierarchy, guys. hahaha...
